After the Philadelphia Eagles heartbreaking loss to the Atlanta Falcons (22-21) last night, I started thinking about my physical health...again. With my recent weight gain, it occurred to me that I might actually weigh more than some of my favorite Eagles players - at only 5'3".
A quick search confirmed my suspicion. I do weigh as much as or more than many of them. Yes, I know the players are taller, younger, men, and in many cases solid muscle, so we are not comparing apples. But still! It's a little sobering to realize I weigh more than multiple players.
As a self-described short girl with thick legs, I have never been skinny. I just want to be healthy again. It's been way too many years since I could say that was the case.
With my recent weight gain, it occurred to me that I might actually weigh more than some of my favorite Eagles players - at only 5'3".
I didn't need to check NFL player weights to know I'm overweight, but it helped me to put things in perspective. Life, hormones, health challenges, poor eating, and lack of exercise have all contributed to where I am today, and I'm done complaining about it. All this extra weight is keeping me from living my best life and I can't fit half my clothes.
So, today I'm starting again. For what feels like the billionth time. But this time I'm going to document my journey and hold myself accountable. Along the way I hope to add a few new tools to my wellness toolbox, and I'll share what did/did not work for me.
Are you struggling to maintain a healthy weight too? Then consider joining me as I work my way back to health.
These are my physical health goals:
Target Weight Loss: 75 pounds
Target Time To Lose Weight: 10 months
Exercise Target: 30 minutes, 4 days a week
Diet target: Vegan/vegetarian meals at least 2 days per week
Goal Outfit: Blue and white polka-dot wrap dress
What are your goals? Have you written them down and put them someplace where you can see them?
